Life At Pocy Baptist

ESV 1 Kings 18:44 And at the seventh time he said, "Behold, a little cloud like a man's hand is rising from the sea." And he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.'"
I am sorry it has been so very long but a lot has happened in our lives. I am now the Pastor of Pocahontas Baptist Church in Pocahontas Va. It is a complete change from Ut. But one thing is evident my God is faithful and true.
Sunday I started Preaching through Jonah and Running to God's will. I am challenging the church to prepare for rain. Talking to friends here we all believe that God is about to bust this place wide open. ESV John 4:35 Do you not say, 'There are yet four months, then comes the harvest'? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.
God does not set His children up for failure, we do that by stabbing each other in the back and being power players in Churches, by seeking after vain glory and not the glory of God.
Friends please join me in prayer and praise for what God has done and what He is going to do here in Pocy. The harvest is not easy but friends it is so worth it. If you are away from pocy and will pray with us let me know. If you are here and part of PBC let me know if you will join with us hand in hand to grow the kingdom and see Jesus lifted up.

AYOLD Pt.4

Man what a week. I am getting ready for youth tonight. Yesterday i was quite sick and sat and watched the swearing in of our new president. I know lots of folks don't like him or agree with him. We are to pray for him and lift him up everyday. I really hope what i saw yesterday can continue on. I saw yesterday an America i have not seen in a while. A country unified and focused.
Friends I pray that our churches could be like this focued on a hurting world. We have the answer and it is not wrapped up in stained glass or steeples, it is in our hearts. we need not be so selfish with Jesus. Unlock that little room you got Him in and let Him out.
God Bless

AYOLD pt. 3

We need to stop and take stock in the somple things. How much do i ahve how much have i been blessed with. Can I offer someone a drink in the name of Jesus. Can I possibly spare one the coats in my closet to keep someone warn. Can i look at people with the eyes of Jesus? All simple but deep questions how much is enough or to much. God made His creation with such detail and beauty can we not take time to see it and praise Him and stop stabbing each other in the back. Can we lift someone up instead of pushing them down? Check out the word to this Rich mullins song. Well until next time. Let get out of our plastic worlds and live dangerously for our Savior.
God Bless

P.S. Here Are The Lyrics
"Well the moon moved past Nebraska And spilled laughter on them cold Dakota Hills And angels danced on Jacob's stairs Yeah they danced on Jacob's stairs There is this silence in the Badlands And over Kansas the whole universe was stilled By the whisper of a prayer The whisper of a prayer And the single hawk bursts into flight And in the east the whole horizon is in flames I feel thunder in the sky I see the sky about to rain And I hear the prairies calling out Your name I can feel the earth tremble Beneath the rumbling of the buffalo hooves And the fury in the pheasant's wings And there's fury in a pheasant's wings It tells me the Lord is in His temple And there is still a faith that can make the mountains move And a love that can make the heavens ring And I've seen love make heaven ring Where the sacred rivers meet Beneath the shadow of the Keeper of the plains I feel thunder in the sky I see the sky about to rain And I hear the prairies calling out Your name From the place where morning gathers You can look sometimes forever 'til you see What time may never know What time may never know How the Lord takes by its corners this old world And shakes us forward and shakes us free To run wild with the hope To run wild with the hope The hope that this thirst will not last long That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain And I feel thunder in the sky I see the sky about to rain And I hear the prairies calling out Your name And I know this thirst will not last long That it will soon drown in the song not sung in vain I feel thunder in the sky I see the sky about to rain And with the prairies I am calling out Your name"

AYOLD Pt. 2

What a last 24 hrs, I have seen satan attack in both sly and bold ways. You know what I have found, that my Jesus is bigger than all those attacks. I continue to read in matthew about the pure compassion of Jesus and His willingness never to comp. the will of the Father. Please if you read this please strive to be like Jesus never becoming a spiritual whore, seeking after the acceptance of men and not of God.

A Year of Living Dangerously Pt. 1

A Year of Living Dangerously
As I was doing my quite time this morning I was reading in Matt. 15 where Jesus talks about tradition. I found my self and my mind wondering to some very self righteous places. You see I am trying hard to Live and Love like Jesus. I started thinking about all the traditions that really hork me off in our Churches. You know you have to dress a certain way, read a certain Bible, sing only one type of songs, etc. You get the picture, I came very close to doing that on the other side of the picture, do I want change for change sake of for the glory of God.
Oh friends I pray and I did that I could continue to live like Jesus and not let defiling things come out of my mouth. We tend to rail against those we disagree against instead of praying for them. I pray that we can all lay down our pre conceived notion of Christianity and look to Jesus to guide our steps our actions our words. If we are to live dangerously and live in that uninhibited worship of God and Jesus we need to remove our mind and take His.
